Wellington de Sousa Laia of Wakefield, entered into eternal rest, unexpectedly Tuesday, March 3, 2026 at home.  He was 40 years old.  Born in Coronel Fabricanio, Minas Gerais, Brazil and lived in Wakefield for a number of years.  He was a carpenter by trade.

Wellington was the beloved son of Cedina Santos Sousa and the late Geraldo de Sousa; the dear and devoted brother of Wesley de Sousa and his wife,Mariana Mattos of Wakefield.

Relatives and friends are respectfully invited to attend Wellington's visiting hours in the Cafasso & Sons Funeral Home,  65 Clark  St. (Corner of Main St.) EVERETT, Sunday, March 8, 2026 from 3 p.m.-5 p.m. with a prayer service at 5 p.m.  Burial will be private.  Parking with attendants on duty.
