Obituary

SWANTSROM, Wayne R. of Stoneham, formerly of Everett, entered into eternal rest at home, unexpectedly, Saturday, January 20, 2024.  He was 80 years old.  Wayne was born in Stoneham and lived in Everett for many years before settling in Stoneham.  He worked at the power plants in Everett and South Boston as a welder as well as other positions in the company during his many years of employment.  Wayne was a life member of the Saugus-Everett Lodge of Elks #642.  He was the son of the late Ann (Wilson) and Eric Swanstrom; the beloved husband of Eunice F. (Marshall) Swanstrom for over 43 years; the dear and devoted father of Katrina McHugh Hennessey and her companion, Mark Delloiacono, Kelly McHugh Rizzo and her husband, Stephen of Tewksbury, Christopher Swanstrom of Haverhill and the late Lisa Anne McHugh; the brother of Alan Swanstrom and his wife, Ruth Adams of Malden and the late Robert Swanstrom; the loving grandfather of Zachary McHugh, Aiden Hennessey, Sidney Hennessey, Selina Rizzo, Joshua Rizzo and Emily Rizzo, Tyler Swanstrom and Jayden Swanstrom; the dear brother-in-law of Frank W. Marshall and his wife, Sandy of TX and Ronald E. Marshall and his wife, Marilyn of Nova Scotia and Lorna J. Moore and her husband, Tom of Malden and the late Kenneth H. Marshall and his surviving wife, Diane of Melrose; and the loving uncle of Laura Swanstrom Cavicchi, Jeanne Swanstrom Murphy, Debbie Swanstrom Guarino and all their respective families.

Relatives and friends are respectfully invited to attend Wayne's visitation in the Cafasso & Sons Funeral Home,  65 Clark St. (Corner of Main Street) EVERETT, Sunday, January 28, 2024 from 1 p.m.-3 p.m. with the U.S. Navy presenting Military Honors at 3 p.m.  Burial will be private.  Contributions in Wayne's memory to Breast Cancer Research Foundation (give.bcrf.org), 28 West 44th Street, Ste. 609, New York, N Y, 10036 would be sincerely appreciated.  Parking with attendants on duty.
