Stephen A. Aucello, 79, of Stoneham. formerly of Everett, passed away  Friday, June 16, 2023 after a brief illness surrounded by his loving family. Steve was born in Everett, MA on December 1, 1943 to the late Ralph and Rose (Scimone) Aucello. After graduating from Everett high school, Steve entered  the Navy from 1963-1970 and was employed as an airplane mechanic, and as on the air crew and as plane capt. He was then employed at Polaroid Corp in Waltham, and Malden Mills in Lawrence; working as a chemical engineer and a construction engineer.

Steve was a long time Stoneham resident, and a long time communicant at St Josephs's  Church in Wakefield. He enjoyed playing pool, or cribbage, and loved spending days at the beach or poolside. He loved watching old westerns and gangster movies, with his favorite being of course, "The Godfather". He was a very passionate cook; with his specialties including lasagna, gravy, oysters rockerfeller, and shrimp scampi. He will be forever remembered for his quick wit, always full of life and laughter.

Steve's greatest joy came from being with his family. He will be forever loved and missed by his 3 children, Maria L Karis of Billerica, Dianne Aucello of Melrose, and Stephen R Aucello of LA, CA. He will also forever be in the hearts of his 5 grandchildren, Thomas Karis Jr and his wife Amanda, of Tewksbury, Rose Karis of Billerica, Andrew Delani of Melrose, and Celia Delani of Boston. Steve was predeceased by his brother, John F; and nephew John M Aucello, both of Everett.

Visiting hours will be held at Cafasso & Sons Funeral Home, 65 Clark St, (Corner of Main St.) Everett, on Friday, June 23 from 4-7 PM. His funeral will be from the funeral home on Saturday, June 24 at 9 a.m. followed by a funeral Mass in the Immaculate Conception Parish, 487 Broadway,, Everett. At 10 a.m. Interment will follow at the Holy Cross Cemetery, 175 Broadway, Malden.

In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to Steve's favorite charity, St Jude Children's Research Hospital; 501 St. Jude Place,; Memphis, TN 38105  Parking with attendants on duty.

His children would also like to acknowledge Melrose-Wakefield Hospital ICU and 3rd floor staff for going above and beyond. We are so grateful for their remarkable care and compassion during this difficult time.
