VAN CAMPEN, Richard, Jr. of Quincy, entered into eternal rest unexpectedly on Saturday, July 19, 2025. He was 59 years old. Born at the former Grover Manor Hospital in Revere, Richard attained a Bachelor's degree from Northeastern University and was a computer programmer for most of his professional life. As life took him down more challenging roads in recent years, the most rewarding vocation he would ever have was to provide guidance and support for those fighting substance use disorder. He was most proud of his constant efforts to help others overcome addiction.

Richard was the beloved son of Marie (Ranelli) and the late Richard Van Campen, Sr. of Everett; the dear and devoted brother of Julie Orozco and her husband Carlos of Everett; Susan Van Campen and her partner Robert Mirabello of Revere; Linda Morrow and her husband Shawn of Melrose; and Robert Van Campen and his wife Lisa of Everett. He was the loving uncle of Ashley Brown and her husband Christopher; Andrea Flint and her husband Quenton; Shawn, Jake and Emma Morrow; and Lily and John Van Campen. He was also the cherished great uncle to Lucille Flint of Everett. While he was no longer a daily presence in their lives, he leaves behind his children – the greatest pride in his life – Olivia, Richard, III, and Sarah Van Campen, all of Danvers.

Relatives and friends are respectfully invited to attend a mass celebrating Richard's life at Our Lady of Grace Church, 59 Nichols Street, Chelsea on Wednesday, July 30, 2025 at 11:00 a.m.  Interment to follow at Holy Cross Cemetery, Malden.
