PENKUL, Richard C. of Salem, entered into eternal rest in the Brigham & Women's Hospital on Independence Day, July 4, 2021. He was 85 years old. Born in Lynn, Richard lived in Lynn for many years before settling in Salem. A graduate of Northeastern University, Richard was a structural engineer by profession. Beloved husband of Georgann A. (Birarelli) Marino. Son of the late Alexander Penkul and Mary (Kasperowicz). Dear and devoted father of Laura Alban and her husband, Thomas of Hebron, CT, Linda Penkul of Lebanon, ME and Michele Guzofski of Plaistow, NH.. Brother of Stanley Penkul and his wife, Adele of Lynn and Carolan Patten and her husband, Dennis of Peabody. Loving grandfather of Max Lavelle, Rosie Penkul and Jason Guzofski. Richard is also survived by Georgann's children, Paul Marino and his children, Mario and Matteo and Marjie Marino. Relatives and friends are respectfully invited to attend Richard's visiting hours in the Cafasso & Sons Funeral Home, 65 Clark St. (Corner of Main St.) EVERETT, Sunday, July 11 from 2-5 p.m. His funeral will be from the funeral home on Monday at 8:30 a.m. followed by a funeral Mass in St. Mary's Church, 8 S. Common St., Lynn at 10 a.m. Interment with military honors in St. Joseph Cemetery, Lynn. Late U.S. Air Force Veteran. Contributions in Richard's memory to the National Kidney Foundation, 209 W. Central St., Natick, MA 01760 would be sincerely appreciated. Parking with attendants on duty.
