On the evening of December 9, 2025, Jesus welcomed home his son Richard into eternal life.  He was 94.
After a period of failing health Richard passed away peacefully at home.
He is survived by his wife of 75 years Anne LaJoie DeBonis, his children and spouses Marie and Stephen Proverb, Paula and Armand Grenier, Paul and Sibylle DeBonis, Julie and Robert McQuaid. He was predeceased by his son Dominic.
He also leaves behind 10 grandchildren and 12 great grandchildren.

Richard was born in Somerville and grew up in Nahant and Lynn where he met his wife Anne. He attended NY Military Academy where he was on the Boxing Team. He was a graduate of Somerville High School. He also lived in Lynn for 30 years where he raised his family . Upon his retirement as a meat cutter at several local butcher shops and supermarkets , he moved to Maine where he worked as a handyman at at girls camp Mataponi until he was 87 years old.  When he retired from this second career, he and Anne moved to Saugus to be closer to family.
Richard loved his pets and enjoyed hunting and fishing in his spare time.

Always the "Fun Papa" he will be deeply missed.
