Obituary

Nancy Polcari, passed away peacefully on October 21, 2026, at the age of 69, surrounded by family, following a courageous fifteen-year battle with PLS. A beautiful soul, a beloved mother, a cherished sister, a loving aunt, and a dear friend, she touched the lives of so many with her presence, her love, and her strength. She was a woman of strength and resilience, meeting life's greatest challenges with a courage that inspired everyone around her. Her life was a reflection of perseverance, grace, and an unbreakable spirit. But those who knew her will remember her joy just as much. She loved to dance, losing herself in the music, the rhythm, and the freedom of the moment. She laughed easily and often, and she was happiest surrounded by the people she loved. Above all, she was family. She was a mother whose love was immeasurable, a sister whose bond was treasured, an aunt who held a special place in the hearts of her family, and a friend whose presence will be deeply missed. Her love, wisdom, laughter, and memories will remain forever woven into the lives of those fortunate enough to have known her. Though her passing leaves an emptiness that cannot be filled, there is comfort in knowing that her struggles are over and she can finally rest in peace. Her dance on this earth has ended, but her spirit will continue to dance in the hearts of all who love her. She will be forever loved, forever remembered, and never forgotten. May she rest peacefully, surrounded by the love she gave so freely throughout her life. Nancy was the beloved daughter of the late Sabino and Lillian (Oliveri) Polcari; the devoted mother of Dario Polcari and his wife, Melissa Polcari; and the loving Nana of Sophie Polcari. She was the cherished sister of Carol Balzotti and Philip Polcari, sister-in-law of Debbie Polcari and the late Michael Balzotti, and loving aunt to Stefanie McKanas, Michael Balzotti, and Matthew Polcari. She is also survived by her grandniece and grandnephews. Nancy’s family would like to extend their heartfelt gratitude to the entire staff at the Leonard Florence Center for Living for the compassionate care, kindness, and support they showed Nancy throughout her eight years there. In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made in Nancy's memory to: Chelsea Jewish Charitable Foundation, 240 Lynnfield Street, Peabody, MA 01960, Attention: Shayna Morris.
