Michael F. Strong, a devoted father, beloved son, and lifelong IT professional in the banking industry, passed away unexpectedly at his home on Sunday, September 13, 2026.

Raised in West Peabody, Michael graduated from Bishop Fenwick High School before embarking on a dedicated, 25-plus-year career as an IT professional in the banking sector, serving with distinction at Boston Private Bank, Silicon Valley Bank, and First Citizens Bank.

Michael was a man of infectious humor and simple pleasures. Known as the ultimate Boston sports fan, he rarely missed a chance to cheer on his beloved Red Sox, Patriots, Bruins, and Celtics. At every gathering, Michael was the master griller behind the BBQ, the life of the party and a competitive pool player who proudly played in the Moose Club league for many years. He also had a deep passion for golf—whether hitting the links for a casual round or participating in his favorite family custom. One of his absolute most cherished traditions was the annual Golf Tournament he attended around Father's Day weekend every year with the men of the family, a highlight of his year that brought everyone together.

He had an unyielding love for 80s music and movies. A favorite family memory was Michael hearing a song start, yelling, "Hey... what movie?", and giving his signature grin. Among his all-time favorite songs was Frank Sinatra’s "Fly Me to the Moon," a classic that captured his upbeat spirit.

Above all else, Michael’s proudest role in life was being a father. He was a pillar of strength, guidance and unwavering support for his son, Kyle Trask, always stepping up whenever fatherly advice was needed. His absolute world was his daughter, Kaitlyn "Kaity" Strong. Embracing the role of "Mr. Mom" with immense pride, Michael never missed an event—cheering the loudest at her cheerleading competitions and treasuring their quiet walks by the lake. Friday nights were sacred, reserved for their cherished tradition of 80s movie nights. To Kaity, he was not only a father who fought through life’s obstacles with a positive mindset but her best friend.

Michael is predeceased by his beloved brother, Christopher Strong. He is survived by his loving parents, Joseph and Debra Strong; his children, Kaitlyn Strong and Kyle Trask; and an extended family to whom he was deeply attached—including his aunts and uncles, with whom he shared an exceptionally close bond. He will be missed greatly by all of his family, dear friends, and former colleagues who loved him dearly.
