WHITTEMORE, Mary A. (O'Connor) of Everett, entered into rest on Thursday, November 19, 2015 in the Epoch of Melrose Nursing Center after a lengthy illness. She was 79 years of age. She was born in New York City, New York. Mary was raised in Lynn, Massachusetts and graduated from St. Mary's High School in Lynn. She furthered he education by graduating from the Catherine La Boure School of Nursing and became a registered nurse. Mary spent her married life in Watertown, Massachusetts, having been married to the late James F. Whittemore, a Watertown Firefighter.
Mary was the daughter of the late Laurence and Catherine (Cassidy) O'Connor. She is survived by her six devoted children, Catherine Stevens and her husband, Mark of Everett, James Whittemore of Everett, Laurence Whittemore and his wife, Beth of Gloucester, Charlotte Swanson and her husband, Rick of Everett, William Whittemore of Watertown and Barbara Whittemore of Athol; her beloved sister, Alice O'Connor of Lynn; her 11 loving grandchildren and 6 loving great-grandchildren. Relatives and friends are respectfully invited to attend Mary's visiting hours in the Cafasso & Sons Funeral Home, 65 Clark St. (Corner of Main St.) EVERETT, Monday morning, November 23 form 9:30 until 11 a.m. with a funeral home service to follow at 11 a.m. Mary will be laid to rest with her beloved husband, James in the Woodlawn Cemetery, Everett.
