Obituary

DeGEORGE, Joseph A., Jr. "Joey" of Everett,  entered into eternal rest on Thursday, May 27, 2021 in the Melrose-Wakefield Hospital.  He was 82 years old.  Born in Boston, Joey lived in Everett for most of his life.  He worked for the City of Everett as a firefighter retiring after 32 years of service to the department and the community. He served as Vice-President of the Everett Firefighters' Union. Beloved husband of Patricia A. (Clifford) for over 61 years.  Dear and devoted father of Joseph DeGeorge, and his wife, Heidy Ramirez of Lynn, Mary Zackular of Everett, Mark DeGeorge of Chelsea and Patricia O'Malley and her husband, Scott of Danville, NH.   Devoted brother of Joan DeGeorge of Everett and the late Angela Canning, Mary Post, Josephine Armstrong and Peter DeGeorge.   Joey is also survived by 7 loving grandchildren and 5 loving great-grandchildren.  Relatives and friends are respectively invited to attend Joey's visiting hours in The Cafasso & Sons Funeral Home, 65 Clark St. (Corner of Main St.), EVERETT on Tuesday, June 1 from 4-7 p.m.  His funeral will be  from the funeral home on Wednesday at 9 a.m, followed by a funeral Mass in the Immaculate Conception Church, 487 Broadway, Everett, at 10 a.m.  Interment with U.S. Marine Corps Military Honors at the Woodlawn Cemetery, Everett.   Contributions in Joey's memory to the New England Center for Homeless Veterans, 17 Court St., Boston, MA 02108 would be sincerely appreciated.  Parking with attendants on duty.
