MATTUCHIO, John W. of Somerville, entered into rest on Wednesday, March 16, 2016 in the Somerville Hospital. He was 96 years old. John was born in Everett and resided in Somerville for many years. He was a crane operator by profession retired from Mattuchio Brothers Scrap Iron and Metal Company in Everett. Beloved husband of the late Rena (Trombi) Mattuchio. Dear and devoted father of John W. Mattuchio, II and his wife, Gail of Pepperell, Robert J. Mattuchio and his wife, Elizabeth of Malden and the late Richard F. Mattuchio and his surviving wife, Linda of Kennebunkport, ME. Brother of the late Helen Valeri, Catherine Mattuchio, Edith Pensavalli, Virginia Pesce, Jeanne Mollica, William, Rocco, Louis, Quido, Pasquale and Albert Mattuchio. John is also survived by 10 loving grandchildren, 14 great-grandchildren and several nieces and nephews. Relatives and friends are respectfully invited to attend John's visiting hours in the Cafasso & Sons Funeral Home, 65 Clark St. (Corner of Main St.) EVERETT, Sunday, April 3 from 3-6 p.m. His funeral will be from the funeral home on Monday at 8:45 a.m. followed by his funeral Mass in St. Catherine of Genoa Church, 185 Summer St., Somerville, at 10 a.m. Interment private.
