Obituary

SHANAHAN. John F. "Jack" of Boston, entered into rest on Thursday, February 24, 2022 at home.  He was 81 years old.  Born in Cambridge, Jack graduated from Sacred Heart High School in East Cambridge.  He worked for many years as a clerk at the Boston Army Base.   He served in the U.S. Army and was honorably discharged.  Jack was a daily communicant of St. Cecelia Parish in the Back Bay and he had a strong devotion to the Rosary.  Beloved son of the late Elizabeth (Nagel) and John Shanahan.  Dear and devoted brother of Theresa M. D'Alba and her late husband, Jack of Malden, Richard Shanahan of Plymouth and the late James Shanahan.  Jack is also survived by many loving nieces and nephews.  Relatives and friends are respectfully invited to attend Jack's visitation in the Cafasso & Sons Funeral Home,  65 Clark St. (Corner of Main St.) EVERETT, Friday, March 4, 2022 at 10 a.m.  followed by a funeral home service at 11 a.m.  His burial will be private.  In lieu of flowers, contributions in Jack's memory to St. Anthony Shrine " Food Program", 100 Arch Street, Boston, MA 02118 would be sincerely appreciated.
