Smith, Francis Leo

Frank, age 81, of Melrose, MA, formerly of South Boston, passed away peacefully in his home on Friday, May 1st, 2026.  Lovingly devoted to his former wife Melissa Oskin Smith, he is survived by his children, Marlene (Scott) Willard, Mechele (Paul) Sheehan, Lora Rae (Robert) Rancati, his grandchildren, his sisters, Anne Conlon, Adella Randazzo and Jean (Jay) Renzello, as well as his nephews and nieces.

Predeceased by his son Lloyd James (Jamie) Oskin, his parents Frank and Adella Smith, his brothers John and James Smith and his brother-in-law David Conlon.

Frank was a dedicated Electrical Engineer at Gillette in South Boston for many years before retiring.  He was a true conversationalist who never met a stranger, striking up conversations with anyone and leaving them feeling like longtime friends.  Frank enjoyed playing hockey as a teen and had a strong passion for music and cars, especially his GTO.  Always a kind, generous person, a devoted father, a loving son, a protective big brother, he will be greatly missed by all who were blessed to know him. There will be no public services.
