Florence L. Clarke, of Boston and formerly of Chelsea, at 91 years of age on December 5, 2023. Preceded in death by her beloved Bertram Clark.  Known as "Flo" to her many friends made working at the City of Boston and later at the Suffolk County Sheriff's office, and during her retirement years at Whittier Place in the West End.  A devoted artist and photographer, Flo loved animals both wild and domestic, but none more than her "Pepper", a 12-pound, lovable Maltese Shih Tzu poodle that became Flo's "fur nephew" and muse.  Flo would often tell people "I became a poet because of Pepper!"   She shared her poems and pictures through text messages with friends, family and neighbors—lifting their spirits and touching their lives with poems that spoke to moral values, caring for the homeless, and maintaining hope when feeling sorrow or pain, and above all, how to laugh, feel joy and give thanks to God for all that is provided.  Her most famous poem "The Bridge of Broken Dreams" was published by Boston City Hall, in a special poetry collection composed by active Seniors.   Florence was the daughter of George and Laura Bullock of Chelsea, and the sister of the late Thomas and Walter Bullock.  She is survived by nephews Thomas Bullock of Chelsea and Todd, Walter, Michael and Brad Bullock as well as many great-nieces and great-nephews.

She will be always be remembered for her irrepressible personal style and genuine human warmth.

A graveside service for Flo will be at the Woodlawn Cemetery, 302 Elm St., Everett, Friday, December 15, 2023 at 12 p.m. (Please meet inside front gate)
