ANTHONY, Edward J. 93, of Everett passed away peacefully, surrounded by his loving family, Thursday July 27, 2017, in the Morton Hospital in Taunton. Edward was married for 64 years to the late Angelina Mary (Ragucci) Anthony of the Village section of Everett. Born in Chelsea, son of the late Norman James Anthony of MA and Vincenza Mary (Cardone) of Italy. He grew up in Malden, and graduated from Malden High School before enlisting in the U.S. Navy. Edward was a gunners first mate on the USS Riddle and served in WWII in the Pacific. He received many honors including the World War II Victory Medal, the American Theater Ribbon, the Philippine Liberation Ribbon One Star and the Asiatic-Pacific Ribbon Seven Stars. After serving in the Navy, he returned to marry Angelina Mary (Ragucci) and then joined the Everett Police Department. He received several commendations from the department before retiring after 32 years of serving and protecting the citizens of Everett. Edward enjoyed spending time with his family, stamp collecting, coin collecting and traveling. Edward is survived by his loving daughters, Rose Hauser and husband Robert of Everett and Norma Jane Anthony (Wong) of Taunton. Brother of Albert Anthony of CA and the late George Anthony. Loving papa of Robert John Hauser, Jr., Edward Anthony Hauser, Kenneth C. Wong and his wife Cecilia and Kimberly Angelina Alves and her husband David. Great papa of Robert John Hauser, III, Alexander James Wong, and Tyler Louis Alves. Relatives and friends are respectively invited to attend Edward's visiting hours in The Cafasso & Sons Funeral Home, 65 Clark St. (Corner of Main St.), EVERETT on Monday, July 31 from 5-8 p.m. His funeral will be from the funeral home on Tuesday at 9 a.m, followed by a funeral Mass in St. Joseph's Church, 770 Salem St., Malden at 10 a.m. Interment will be private.
