TEIXEIRA, Durval of Everett, formerly of Medford, entered into eternal rest on Sunday, May 18, 2025 at home, surrounded by his loving and caring family. He was 89 years old. Born in Sao Miguel, Azores, Portugal, Durval lived in Medford for many years before settling in Everett. He worked as a tour guide at the Portuguese Museum before retiring.
Durval was the dear son of the late Manuel Teixeira and Guilhermina Pacheco; the beloved husband of the late Juileta (Bento) Teixeira; the dear and devoted father of Genoveva Lima of Everett, Durval Teixeira and his wife, Analia of Portugal, Jose Teixeira and his wife, Urania of Somerville, Joao Teixeira and his wife, Jessica Hill of Tewksbury and Luzia Teixeira of Fall River; the dear brother of Manuel Teixeira and the late Hileberto Teixeira and Leonilde Martins. Durval was the loving Vovo of 17 and great-Vovo of 14.
Relatives and friends are respectfully invited to attend Durval's visiting hours in the Cafasso & Sons Funeral Home, 65 Clark St. (Corner of Main St.) EVERETT, Thursday, May 22, 2025 from 5 p.m.-8 p.m. His funeral will be from the funeral home Friday at 9 a.m. followed by a funeral Mass in St. Anthony's Church, 38 Oakes St., Everett, at 10 a.m. Burial will be at the Oak Grove Cemetery, Medford. In lieu of flowers, contributions to the American Lung Association, 1661 Worcester Rd., #301, Framingham, MA 01701 would be sincerely appreciated. Parking with attendants on duty.
