PRESTIA, Carl A. of North Andover entered into eternal rest on Sunday, April 7, 2019 in the Beth Israel Deaconess Medical Center in Boston, surrounded by his loving family. He was 84 years old. Born in Chelsea, Carl was a resident of Andover for many years before settling in North Andover. Carl had a Bachelor of Science degree and was an Industrial Engineer by profession. He worked at Raytheon for over 35 years. Dear son of the late Carl and Catherine (Lundari) Prestia. Beloved husband of Sandra A. (Cioffi) for nearly 60 years. Dear and devoted father of Carl S. Prestia and his wife, Christine of Groton, Daniel J. Prestia and his wife, Donna of Lehigh Acres, FL and Laurence D. Prestia and his wife, Suzanne of Groton. Brother of the late Lydia Cognata and Marie Coscia. Loving grandfather of Sean, Lauren, Neil, Sidney and Curtis Prestia. Carl is not only survived by his family but the qualities he embodied daily. He cared deeply about his family, friends, and the conversations he held, where he loved to both talk and listen. He was someone who embraced a challenge, whether it was through travel or his work as an engineer and a craftsman. These qualities live on in his spirit and in those who remember it. Relatives and friends are invited to attend Carl's visitation in the Conte Funeral Home, 17 Third Street, North Andover, MA 01845 Saturday, April 13 from 10 a.m. until 1 p.m. with a funeral home service at 11:30 a.m. Burial will be private. In lieu of flowers, donations can be made in memory of Carl Prestia to "Drs. John Godine and Michael Schwartzchild" and mailed to the Massachusetts General Hospital Development Office, 125 Nashua Street, Ste. 540, Boston, MA 02114, Attention: Kylie Wojcicki.
