Sunday, December 21st arrived with a chill in the air and a calming sunrise, marking Carl's final day on earth. Surrounded by love and with his grandchildren holding his hands, Carl peacefully entered heaven, where he is now reunited for all future Christmases with his beloved wife of 50 years, Donna (Sledzinski) who preceded him in death and had been waiting to welcome him home.  Also preceding him in death is his son David Perretti, brother Donald Perretti, Aunt Mary Hanson; Brother-in-law Donald Hearn.

Carl leaves behind a loving family who will carry on his spirit and legacy: his sons Derek (Brenda) Perretti and Dale Perretti; his cherished grandchildren, Rory and Derek Perretti Jr.; his sister Dorothy Hearn; cousin Bob (Danielle) Brogna; family friends Meredith White and Gladys Baron.

Carl was born on September 10, 1940, in Everett, Massachusetts, to Carl and Dorothy Perretti. He attended Everett public schools, graduating from Everett High School in 1958. Following high school, Carl proudly enlisted in the United States Army. He was stationed in Kileen, Texas, serving as an Atomic Weapons Mechanic, before completing his service and returning home.

After the Army, Carl met and fell in love with Donna Sledzinski of Revere, Massachusetts. They were married at St. Anthony Church, Revere, MA, and together settled in Everett, where they raised their three sons.  As his sons were growing up, Carl was heavily involved with Pop Warner Football. He also served as a Coach and a member of the Board of Directors for Everett Huskies Football.

Carl built a long and dedicated career as a Tool and Die Maker at Polaroid in Waltham, MA. After retiring from Polaroid, he continued his working life with the Commonwealth of Massachusetts.

Carl joyfully split his time between Everett, MA and York, ME. He especially treasured time spent with his family, particularly his grandchildren.

In his final years, Carl courageously faced and fought several illnesses with strength and grace.

The family would like to thank the amazing staff at Atria Maplewood and CHA Everett for their kindness and care of Carl.

Friends and family are invited to the calling hours, held at the Cafasso & Sons Funeral Home, 65 Clark St. (Corner of Main ) Everett, Sunday, Dec. 28, 2025 from 2 p.m.-5 p.m.  As well as the Funeral service, held at Cafasso & Sons Funeral Home, Monday, Dec. 29, 2025 at 11 a.m. Burial with U. S. Army Military Honors to follow at Woodlawn Cemetery, Everett, MA.
